Enjoy our 16-day tour, visiting the most iconic sites in Madrid, Portugal, Andalusia, and Barcelona. Your trip will begin and end in the Spanish capital, Madrid, where you'll admire its impressive Renaissance and Baroque buildings on our panoramic city tour. Then, during your visit to Portugal, you'll delve into the heart of the Christian faith and worldwide pilgrimage, where you'll visit famous religious monuments such as the Church of Santa Clara.
Once you return to Spain, you'll follow the Caliphate route in Andalusia to discover medieval architectural gems with Arabic nuances. Before visiting Barcelona, you'll make a brief stop in Valencia, the city where the delicious Spanish paella originated. Without a doubt, it is an unforgettable experience that combines the culture, history and gastronomy of both countries.

  • We offer two different accommodation options, Superior T or Superior Plus A. Both categories, carefully selected, guarantee all our clients comfortable accommodation with high quality standards. Please note that Superior Plus A is usually more centrally located.
  • Although our tours are bilingual, please select your preferred language at the time of booking.
  • This tour is combined with other tours; not all participants may have the same destination. Depending on the segment of the tour, the accompanying guide may change.
  • During your stay in Madrid, there will be no accompanying guide service.
  • If the visit to Madrid or Barcelona could not be carried out for technical reasons, it would be replaced by the 1-day Tourist Bus Madrid City Tour and/or Barcelona City Tour.
  • In the event that the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife, on some dates, does not grant tickets for the participants in the tour, compensation for the loss of these services will be offered, at the discretion of the operator.

Itinerary

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city. We will contemplate its medieval origins, such as the Arab fortress, while touring the Morería neighborhood, characterized by the antiquity of its buildings and the flavors of its inns. We will explore the courtly Madrid of the Habsburgs, characterized by Philip II and his Renaissance and Baroque buildings in Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza de la Villa. We will see the Madrid of the Bourbons and the urban layout of Charles III, the Royal Palace, the Cibeles Fountain, the Neptune Fountain, and the Puerta de Alcalá. We will admire 19th-century buildings such as the elegant Plaza de Oriente and the Prado Museum. We will discover contemporary Madrid with avenues such as Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, the Salamanca neighborhood, Parque del Oeste, the commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.   • Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of Porto, a World Heritage Site, where we will see the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange, and the Church of Santa Clara. Afterwards, enjoy a different perspective of the city along the Douro River aboard a cruise and discover its historical heritage by visiting a renowned Port Wine Cellar with a wine tasting included.   • Breakfast. Departure for Coimbra, home to one of Europe's oldest universities and the birthplace of Fado. Free time. Continue to Fátima. Center of Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria, the site of the apparition of the Virgin Mary. The Chapel of the Apparitions, the heart of the sanctuary, houses the tombs of the three shepherd children, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. In the evening, you may attend the candlelight procession.   • Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the Batalha Monastery, a Gothic and Manueline masterpiece considered a World Heritage Site. We will continue to the picturesque fishing village of Nazaré. Free time and continue to Alcobaça, with its Gothic church and Cistercian monastery, whose origins date back to the 12th century, and then Lisbon. Arrival in the Portuguese capital and overnight stay.

Declared a World Heritage Site, Mérida stands out for its rich historical heritage, including its well-preserved Roman ruins: the theater, the amphitheater, the Roman bridge... Free time and continue to Córdoba, the former capital of the Caliphate. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the impressive Mosque/Cathedral to relax your mind and spirit as you stroll through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. After a short two-hour tour, we arrive in Seville. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, enjoy a monumental and panoramic tour of the city, including admission to the Cathedral, the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peter's in Rome. Visit the typical Santa Cruz neighborhood, the natural setting for 'Carmen' and the place where the myth of 'Don Juan' was developed. Visit the María Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Free afternoon to discover different perspectives and the specific flavors of this vibrant, light-filled city. Overnight at the hotel. Optional visit to a flamenco show.

  • Breakfast at the hotel and departure east along the Caliphate Route towards the heart of Andalusia, observing an endless number of olive trees. Arrival in Granada and its incredible and astonishing monumental setting, the last bastion of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada until 1492. Visit of the world-famous Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens, fountains, gardens, and patios whose sights and sounds have inspired authors such as Washington Irving in his 'Tales of the Alhambra'. Overnight at the hotel. In the evening, optional Zambra Flamenca show.

  • After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the Levante region to reach Valencia, one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast, with its modern architectural complex of Arts and Sciences, comprising six buildings: Hemisfèric, Umbracle, Museum of Sciences, Oceanogràfic, Palau de les Arts, and Ágora. Valencia is also the origin of the internationally renowned 'Paella'. Hotel accommodation.

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit this luminous city, admiring its old town. Then, continue along the old Turia River and visit the most avant-garde complex, the City of Arts and Sciences, to admire its emblematic buildings from the outside. In the afternoon, depart north along the Mediterranean coast towards Catalonia via Tarragona, the Roman Tarraco. Arrival in Barcelona, the main city of the Mediterranean and birthplace of the famous architect Antonio Gaudí, a symbol of Catalan Modernism. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the city known worldwide for its 1992 Olympic Games. Tour the main avenues with their impressive modernist buildings by Gaudí and contemplate his most emblematic works: Casa Milá, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, declared World Heritage buildings. Montjuic Park, with spectacular views of both the city and the port, the Olympic Ring and the Columbus Monument.   • After breakfast at the hotel, depart southwest through an important industrial and agricultural area in Europe. Arrival in Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon, located on the banks of the Ebro River, the largest river in the Iberian Peninsula. Zaragoza, known as Caesar Augusta during the Roman period, played a very important role in Spanish history. Free time to visit the impressive architecture of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. Continue to Madrid. Overnight at the hotel.
